Daily Tasks/Shared Living
We offer Supported Independent Living (SIL) to our participants who need assistance with daily life activities. Supported Independent Living is different from Specialist Disability Accommodation. It helps participants to have more choice and control. The supported independent living service includes offering support in terms of help in preparing meals and cleaning, assistance in personal care tasks, support during medical appointments, and so on.
However, Supported Independent Living services do not include help with community participation, transport, internet connection, food, or consumables. In a SIL service, the assistant or the support staff either stays with the person or in a nearby building within quick access and attends to the person when required. This way, the participant does not feel that they are fully dependent on another individual.
